A lymphatic drainage facial is a professional treatment that uses light, rhythmic massage — often along the jaw, cheeks, and neck — to encourage fluid movement, ease puffiness, and leave the face looking more awake and defined. At Skin Glow Studio, this work sits at the center of our massage-forward approach, not as a rushed add-on.
It is not a medical procedure, not a substitute for clinical care, and not the same as a hard contour device session. It is skilled hands, calm pressure, and a protocol matched to your barrier.
What happens in the chair
After cleanse and a quick skin read, we use sculptural massage strokes designed to support drainage pathways rather than drag or stretch the skin. You may feel warmth, a mild “cleared” sensation in the sinuses, or simply that your face feels lighter. Many clients notice less morning puff and a softer jawline shadow in photos the same day.
- Pressure stays gentle — more gliding than kneading
- Neck and décolleté often included so fluid has somewhere to go
- Serums and masks chosen to hydrate, not clog
- Optional tools (gua sha-style sculpting) only when your skin can handle them
Benefits people actually care about
- Less puff — especially under eyes and along the jaw after salty dinners or poor sleep
- Clearer-looking skin — better circulation can make tone look more even
- Softer tension lines — face-holding and screen posture show up in the jaw
- Makeup sits better — less fluid under foundation the next day for many clients
Results look like you slept — not like you had a procedure.
Who it is for (and who should wait)
Great fit: dullness, mild congestion, pre-event polish, stress tension, clients who want definition without injectables.
Tell us first / may modify: active infection, uncontrolled medical edema, recent injectables or surgery, severe cystic acne in the path of massage, pregnancy questions (we adjust and keep pressure conservative).
If you have a medical condition involving lymph nodes or circulation, ask your physician before booking specialized drainage work. We stay in the cosmetic, wellness lane.
Lymphatic facial vs regular facial vs microcurrent
- Signature Facial — cleanse, optional gentle peel/extractions when appropriate, massage, mask. Lymphatic work is woven in.
- Lymphatic-focused visit — more time on sculptural massage; less emphasis on deep extractions.
- Microcurrent — mild electrical current for a lifted look; pairs well after skin is calm, not as a replacement for hands.

How often should you book?
For maintenance glow, every 3–4 weeks is a sweet spot. Before an event, one session 3–7 days prior is common. A short series (for example weekly for 3–4 visits) can help if puff is stubborn, then step down to monthly. See also how often you should get a facial by goal.
What to do at home Drink water, skip heavy salt the night before if you can, and do not scrape your face hard with tools you saw online. Professional pressure is trained; DIY force is how people bruise.
Ready to try it?
Start with a Signature Facial and tell us “puff and definition” are the priority — we will weight the session toward lymphatic sculpting. Prefer event-ready glass skin? Ask for a Glow Ritual with hydration layers and soft finish.
