First visit & cadence

How often should you get a facial?

Skin renews about every month. Here is how often to book for maintenance, breakouts, events, and tech — without overdoing it.

Short answer: most people get the best results from a professional facial about every 4 weeks — roughly in step with the skin’s natural renewal cycle. That is the cadence we recommend for a Signature Facial when your goal is steady clarity, smoother texture, and glow that holds between visits.

How often you should book depends on your skin type, what you want fixed, and whether you are prepping for a photo day or building a series. Below is a practical map — not a one-size script.

Why every 4 weeks is the default

Your epidermis turns over in roughly a month. A well-timed facial supports that cycle: cleanse and polish what is ready to leave, calm what is irritated, and feed barrier-safe hydration so the next weeks of home care work better.

Come much less often and you still get a nice day — but you miss the cumulative progress that makes skin look “always cared for,” not “I had a spa day once.” Come every week without a clinical reason and you risk over-stimulating a sensitive barrier.

Think monthly maintenance, not crisis mode — unless your skin is in an active flare and we plan a gentler series together.

How often by goal

Maintenance & glow

  • Every 4 weeks — Signature Facial for most skin types
  • Every 6 weeks — if your barrier is reactive and results still look good at that spacing
  • Every 3–4 weeks — oilier, congested skin that builds texture fast

Acne-prone or congested skin

Many clients start every 3–4 weeks while we clear congestion and keep extractions appropriate (never aggressive for the camera). Once calm, we stretch to monthly. Pair with honest home care — a facial is not a license to skip SPF or pick at home.

Sensitive, rosacea-leaning, or post-procedure skin

We favor 4–6 weeks with lower pressure, fewer actives, and no surprise peels. Tell us about recent injectables, lasers, or retinoids when you book so we leave enough recovery time.

Event glow (wedding, shoot, big night)

Book a Glow Ritual 3–7 days before the event — close enough for plump, camera-ready skin; far enough that any soft flush has settled. Ideal path: one maintenance facial 4 weeks prior, then the event appointment.

Microcurrent or RF contour

For lift and firmness, series work best: often 4–6 visits spaced about a week or two apart at first, then maintenance monthly. We map this on a Advanced Tech plan so you are not stacking devices just to raise the ticket.

What changes the timeline

  • Strong at-home acids or retinoids (we may space visits or soften the protocol)
  • Sun exposure and travel humidity swings
  • Hormonal cycles and stress breakouts
  • Seasonal dryness — more hydrating focus in winter; more congestion control in humid months

Studio note Your first visit includes a short skin read. We will tell you a realistic return window before you leave — not a generic “see you next month” if your barrier needs longer.

Can you get facials too often?

Yes. Over-exfoliating, aggressive extractions, or weekly peels without a reason can thin comfort, increase redness, and make makeup sit worse — the opposite of glow. If you love the ritual, we can still see you more often with lymphatic massage and hydration and skip the hard polish.

How to start

  1. Book a Signature Facial if you want a full monthly reset.
  2. Choose a Glow Ritual if an event is inside two weeks.
  3. Ask about Advanced Tech only after we know your goals and barrier status.
